Sketchy Brushes / Styles for Adobe Fireworks

I hear lot of critique about lack of decent brushes in Adobe Fireworks. I hope these sketchy brushes/styles can satisfy the need of custom brushes for you Fw-designers out there.

I actually made these years ago while having a coffee break. No, seriously I have these since FW3 and used few times in my designs. Since these are based on quite simple stroke-manipulations, I wonder why this kind of styles are not yet out there. Oh well, here they are.

Install

Download the zip, unpack it where you can found it. Boot up Fireworks, open up the Styles-panel. Click on upper left corner and select “Import Style Library”.

Or just drop the .stl-file to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS5\Styles\-folder (or /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fireworks CS5/Styles on OSX).

Usage

These styles does not have fills, so they are stroke-only (unless I have forgotten some fills, then consider it as a bonus). You can adjust the color as you would do normally, but try using Filters & Adjust Colors/Color Fill option too. With these brushes/styles you can achieve stuff like grass, fur or just plain old grunge. I’m really interested what you people can do with these styles, so keep me posted!
